Add Before You Subtract
Most diets start with a list of everything you can't have. No wonder they feel like punishment, and no wonder they rarely last.
Crowd in, don't cut out
Try flipping the script. Instead of taking foods away, add one nourishing thing before you remove anything: a handful of greens at lunch, a piece of fruit in the afternoon, a glass of water before your coffee. As the good food fills you up, the less helpful food naturally has less room.
Why it works
Restriction triggers resistance. Tell yourself you can never have something and you'll think about it all day. Addition does the opposite. It feels generous, not depriving, so it's far easier to keep doing. And consistency, not intensity, is what actually changes your health.
What it looks like this week
Add a vegetable to one meal a day. Keep cut fruit where you'll see it. Start dinner with a small salad. None of these ask you to give anything up, and within a couple of weeks, your plate quietly looks different.
Small changes lead to big results. Celebrate every step, even a little bitty baby step. Momentum, not perfection, is what tips you toward healthy.
